Abstract: The present study aimed to evaluate and compare the phytochemical composition and in vitro antioxidant potential of hydroethanolic root extracts of Momordica charantia, Ocimum sanctum, and Moringa oleifera. The plant materials were collected, authenticated, dried, powdered, and extracted using a 70:30 ethanol–water solvent system by maceration. Preliminary phytochemical screening confirmed the presence of major bioactive constituents such as alkaloids, flavonoids, phenolics, tannins, saponins, terpenoids, and glycosides. Quantitative estimation revealed that Moringa oleifera exhibited the highest total phenolic content (91.6 ± 3.2 mg GAE/g extract) and total flavonoid content (67.8 ± 2.7 mg QE/g extract), followed by Ocimum sanctum and Momordica charantia. Antioxidant activity assessed using DPPH and ABTS assays demonstrated concentration-dependent radical scavenging activity, with Moringa oleifera showing the lowest IC₅₀ values (DPPH: 41.3 ± 1.8 µg/mL; ABTS: 39.5 ± 1.6 µg/mL), indicating superior antioxidant potential. Strong positive correlations were observed between phytochemical content and antioxidant activity (r > 0.85). The findings suggest that Moringa oleifera roots are a rich source of natural antioxidants and highlight the importance of phytochemicals in combating oxidative stress..
